Congress registration

The 2023 IFAJ world congress registration closed as of Friday, June 9.

Please get in touch with our registration committee as there may be an opportunity for you to obtain a pass for the days you would like to come; however, spots are not guaranteed due to food orders and hotel vacancy. We appreciate your understanding.

Tickets for our opening reception, Taste of Alberta, will remain open until June 26th. Tickets for that event will not be sold at the door, nor will passes to Congress in light of food orders and hotel vacancy. Thank you for your understanding.

Here’s a rough estimate of Congress costs along with what will be included and what to expect during the jam-packed five-and-a-half days in Alberta, Canada.

Cost: $1,423 CAD is the base rate.

The base rate would be for a standard, shared room in Calgary and once in Olds, the college’s modern single-occupant dormitories. Pictures of the various options can be found online. Total cost will include all accommodation, transportation and tours during the congress. Most if not all meals will also be covered; however, there may be 1-2 tour options during the congress that will end earlier in the afternoon for those that want/need time away from the group or want to explore Olds on their own. In that, dinner for those few tours will not be covered and will be clearly indicated on our website as such.

Investment: During your stay, prepare to be immersed in Canadian agriculture along with professional development opportunities. A ‘Taste of Alberta’ opening reception will kick us off in Calgary that will have your mouth watering – but won’t leave you going back to your room hungry. We then travel north one hour to the town of Olds, where you’ll be surrounded by an agricultural hub — Olds College. Learning from the best in the industry, everything from beef, to crop sciences, soil health, farm technology, a rodeo, Indigenous history and more will have your notebooks and camera memory cards full.

The basic agenda is up and we encourage you to explore what we’re going to offer! Know there may be some changes as we inch closer to the date, but it should give you a clear idea of what to expect when we welcome you to Canada.
