We will spend the day meeting the people, organizations and places that are making livestock health and welfare a priority - while visiting some beautiful landscapes and scenery!

Learn about the developments in animal care with a tour to Solvet, a pharmaceutical company that specializes in meeting the veterinary treatment needs of producers. We’ll follow this up with a stop at the University of Calgary’s state of the art veterinary college (UCVM) to hear about research in animal welfare and science, and talk with provincial and national organizations that are committed to animal welfare extension, livestock emergency and risk management, and disease prevention.

After a country lunch, the day will cap off with a trip to the UCVM’s stunning W.A Ranch, where you will see cattle nestled in the Rockies and hear what researchers and students are studying in real-life Rocky mountain conditions.
